Do you sometimes feel anxious, overwhelmed, stressed or depressed about your life, your work or your relationships? Do you ever lie awake at night worrying about problems in your life that seem insurmountable, including your weight, your health, how you look or problems in your relationships? Do you feel out of control with your eating, your weight, or sugar and other food addictions and cravings? Do you take antidepressant/anti-anxiety medications, but still have "symptoms"? Do you wish you could talk to someone who could really hear you, understand you and help you resolve the stress and emotional pain you are experiencing? What price are you paying by minimizing the degree of suffering that you are experiencing? Is your self-esteem suffering? What price are those whom you love paying by you avoiding, denying or staying stuck in your pain?
As a Holistic, Integrative Practitioner, I view you as a whole person, not as a diagnostic label. This enables me to understand the source of your pain and your "symptoms" and to tailor individualized interventions that will resolve your unique core issues and allow deep change to become a real possibility. I will teach you the most up to date information about the causes of your physical, emotional, and relationship problems. I will also teach you how to implement these learnings so that you can achieve your goals for a healthier, happier and more fulfilling, meaningful life. I do this by creating a supportive environment in which we explore how to implement the latest research on the most highly effective holistic, integrative interventions to resolve your unique challenges or problems. From all of my many years of, training, research and experience in Holistic Health, I am able to integrate the best holistic and integrative coaching methods to fit your unique personality and constellation of issues.
I bring to my practice over forty years of experience. Formerly, before I retired from my practice as a licensed Clinical Psychologist, my experiences ranged from being the Chief Psychologist of a Psychiatric Hospital, the Director of an Eating Disorders Program, and working as a Psychology Professor. Over the years, I have continually worked on my own issues. Therefore, I know first hand how devastating and painful, trauma and loss are and how important it is to face painful experiences head-on and do the necessary, in-depth work to resolve whatever" unfinished business" remains from those past experiences, so that personal growth becomes possible. Working on my own issues over the years, has profoundly deepened my knowledge, as well as the work that I now do with others as a Holistc and Integrative Coach..
My approach to working with you will be very different from the way that most of Western Medicine and Western Psychology approaches and "treats" physical and emotional problems. The latter, focuses upon labeling you with a diagnosis based upon your symptoms, and then using "treatments" that often only superficially and temporarily suppress those symptoms, ususally with the risk of causing major side effects as well as new, additional problems you did not previously have, My approach is very different. I do not diagnose you, nor do I treat disorders or symptoms. My approach is to view you as a whole person, looking at all aspects of your life, how they intertwine, how to get to the root cause of your suffering, and how to make changes that will enable you to create a happy, healthy and fulfilling life, free of rigid rules or restrictions.
My goal in working with you is to help you find that inner light that has perhaps been dimmed by difficult or painful life experiences, and teach you ways to enable it to sparkle and shine. Just one conversation could be the beginning of you changing your life. Schedule a free initial phone consultation with me today!
By the way, are you wondering why my website opens with a slide show picturing dogs and nature scene? It is because I, myself, have been been deeply impacted on every level of my life by my relationship with my dogs. Dogs have so much to teach us about ourselves and how to live a healthy, stress-free life by being present in the now. The human/canine connection is a long and deep one. And, because my approach to working with people includes a deep respect for the importance that our connection to our dogs and to nature has on our health, I thought it would be an appropriate expression of who I am, to speak to you symbolically through these amazingly grounded and emotionally connected beings.
