Being emotionally intelligent can lead to healthy attractions. It allows us to use our hearts and our minds to make decisions, not solely on one or the other which leaves missing pieces. We also will seek people out that are more suited to us. And we will be able to maintain fulfilling partnerships by being emotionally intelligent.
Reactions are healthier based on emotional intelligence. Fights that get out of hand, firing off angry text messages or fear of someone leaving are all irrational actions and signs that emotional intelligence needs maturing. Resist the urge to react in such ways. It may take practice, but it will get easier and you will have less regrets by doing so. Using compassion with yourself will also encourage emotional intelligence. Empathize with your situation, but maybe decide to sleep on it before reacting.

It allows you to feel, but to stop and think logically and rationally before reacting in ways that could be damaging to you and to others. Being rational and emotional is ok, but the magic is to find the perfect balance between the two.
